Moving house!

Last Friday was the day we've been looking forward to for 2 months; the settlement date for our new house! Straight after work I went to the real estate agent to pick up the key (thoughtfully attached to a bottle of Moet & Chandon..), but there was one hickup in the preparations however; the electricity wasn't going to be connected till Tuesday! So on Friday night we had a look at our new house using a flashlight, since the light wasn't working, which made us feel more like a couple of burglars than the new owners of the house.. Luckily none of the neighbours called the cops! On Saturday morning the first furniture was due to be delivered, and when the first delivery guy plugged in the fridge, to our surprise it started buzzing! As it turns out, the electricity had been connected all along, but the main switch for the lights was just off.. Doh! Much to our delight, this meant that we could stay in our new house from Saturday! Our high spirits were soon quashed though, when we were assembling our bed, and discovered it was delivered with the wrong sized slats... I guess one more night in our tiny Richmond appartment can't hurt.. The right size slats were delivered on Sunday, so we could finally move all our stuff over and spend our first night in our new home! Since we didn't have any furniture, the house is still pretty empty, except for the bed and our Ikea dinnertable, but the new couch will be delivered on Wednesday, so if I'm able to mount our new TV on the wall this week as well, it will look a lot more like a real home soon enough! In any case, we love the place already!
